Being in the presence of Influencers at Reuters NEXT
✨ Reflections on the 2025 ReutersNEXT Conference
Yesterday we had the privilege of attending the 2025 ReutersNEXT Conference with our client, Melissa Sanderson, a board member of American Rare Earths.
The day began with a remarkable interview conducted by Alessandra Galloni, Executive Editor of Reuters, in conversation with UN Secretary António Guterres. Their dialogue set the tone for a day filled with insight and global perspective.
We then tuned into a Reuters Live podcast hosted by Carmel Crimmins, exploring the impact of Donald Trump on both the United States and the wider world. It was energizing to be at the center of such critical discussions and ideas.
A highlight was the Future of News session, featuring panelists who have transitioned from traditional media into independent platforms. Among them:
- Don Lemon who has reinvented himself after CNN with his own program which is infused with fresh ideas not as he says ‘not under a corporate shadow.’
- David Pakman and Tara Palmeri, both sharing how their podcasts and YouTube shows thrive without the constraints of corporate filters
Their reflections on authenticity and independence in journalism were especially compelling.
We were also deeply impressed by Reuters White House Correspondent Andrea Shalal, whose interview with the Counselor to the U.S. Treasury Secretary showcased her tenacity and commitment to pursuing the story with clarity and courage.
Closing sessions brought inspiring voices from beyond the newsroom: Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, and Sarah Jessica Parker, the Sex and the City star turned entrepreneur.
🌍 Takeaway
Overall, it was an extraordinary day of ideas, dialogue, and inspiration; a rare opportunity to witness the intersection of global leadership, independent media innovation, and cultural entrepreneurship.
